Verovatno ste svesni da je Listeria monocitogenes vruća tema u prehrambenoj industriji i medijskim kućama. Listeria, jedna od najsmrtonosnijih patogena u hrani, tradicionalno je vezana za kontaminaciju mesa, proizvoda od mesa i nepasterizovanih sireva. Međutim, u poslednjih nekoliko godina, značajno se povećava broj bolesti izazvanih hranom koje se pripisuju Listeria monocitogenes.
